Greek - Hummus Dip with Red Chili, Garlic and  Pine Nuts Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 can Chickpeas

  • 1/4 cup virgin Olive Oil

  • 2 tsp garlic, minced, divide

  • 1 cup sweet red peppers, finely chopped

  • 1 tsp red hot Chili pepper, finely chopped

  • 2 tbsp pine nuts

  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp Greek Oregano's

  • 1 tsp freshly squeezed lemon juice

  • 2 large pita bread, pizza cut

  • Salt to your taste

Steps:

  1. Drain and wash chickpeas from the can.

  2. Add chickpeas, half garlic, olive oil, black pepper, Oreganos, lemon juice and salt to the food processor.  Grind them in a food processor until it is smooth. Add a couple tsp water, if needed. Taste and adjust the salt and sour.

  3. Heat the small pan, add olive oil and garlic. Stir until the garlic is golden brown.

  4. Keep the heat to medium and add both types of peppers and salt until the peppers are cooked. Sprinkle fresh Organos, mix well.

  5. Arrange the hummus, peppers and pine nuts as shown in the picture.

  6. Add the warm pita to the platter right before serving.

  7. Enjoy!
